How to create a backup of your cs-cart store?

Your online shop will be provided with extensive capabilities, using the many features the script has to offer. Even so, every eCommerce shopping platform can be attacked or other unforeseen circumstances can deal damage to it. That is why it is very important to keep a backup of your files and of the database associated with your platform at a safe place, just in case you need to restore your website for any number of reasons. With CS-Cart, you will be able to create one very easily through the script itself. In this part of the tutorial we are going to go into detail how you can perform this procedure by yourself and it takes just a couple of steps.

The first thing you need to do, as with the other parts of this tutorial, is to login into your Administration Panel. Once you are successfully signed in, you need to go to Administration at the top of the page and after that select Backup/Restore from the drop-down menu:

There is also a second way to perform a backup. You first need to download all of your files via FTP. To understand how to do that, check out this article.

Then, simply export your MySQL database, by going to cPanel > phpMyAdmin and follow this guide.

If you are not able to perform this procedure on your own, you can always contact our Technical Support Team, who can assist you 24/7 with this or any other technical issue, related to your CS-Cart application.
