How to create a backup of your cs-cart store?

Your online shop will be provided with extensive capabilities, using the many features the script has to offer. Even so, every eCommerce shopping platform can be attacked or other unforeseen circumstances can deal damage to it. That is why it is very important to keep a backup of your files and of the database associated with your platform at a safe place, just in case you need to restore your website for any number of reasons. With CS-Cart, you will be able to create one very easily through the script itself. In this part of the tutorial we are going to go into detail how you can perform this procedure by yourself and it takes just a couple of steps.

The first thing you need to do, as with the other parts of this tutorial, is to login into your Administration Panel. Once you are successfully signed in, you need to go to Administration at the top of the page and after that select Backup/Restore from the drop-down menu:

When the website loads you have to click on the Create backup (+) button at the top right corner of the page to begin the process and create a new backup:

This will get you to the Create backup page. You will be able to specify what you want to include in the backup. Have in mind that you can scroll down, as there are more settings awaiting:

At the bottom of this page, there are also Backup options and you can also write in the Backup file name you want. Afterward, proceed with the Create blue button at the bottom:

Finally, you will be able to see the newly generated file in the Backup/Restore section. There, from the gear button, you will be able to get to a drop-down menu. You can either Download it on your computer or Restore the backup. If you no longer need the backup – you can simply Delete it:

Then, simply export your MySQL database, by going to cPanel > phpMyAdmin and follow this guide.
