Depending on the type of forum you want to develop and the matter that would be discussed you might want to modify the appearance of your board.
That is why in this part of our SMF tutorial we will show you how to install new theme on the platform.
Before you proceed with the installation you need to go to the official SMF theme repostory and choose the one that best fits your needs.
You should then download the theme archive on your local computer.
To proceed with the actual installation you will need to access the administration area of your forum and navigate to Admin > Themes ans Layout:
On the new page where you will be redirected to you need to scroll to the bottom and locate the Install a New Theme section. Here you should select the theme archive which you have downloaded and click on the Install button:
Once the theme is installed you will be displayed with a message that shows that the process has completed successfully:
To set this theme as a default one you nee to navigate once again to Admin > Themes ans Layout and go to the Themes and Layout Settings section. Then select the newly installed one from the drop-down list and click Save:
