Most of the applications depend on the .htaccess file where all the rewrite rules, basic URL navigations, access rules and some other rules are located. Thus upon deleting or modifying your .htaccess file you may receive the following error:

404 Not found – The requested URL / was not found on this server

If you have modified/deleted your .htaccess file you can request a restoration of the file by submitting a new ticket to our Support Team or, if you have a backup copy of your .htaccess file you can restore it yourself by uploading it in the same folder it was located. You can upload a file by navigating to:

cPanel -> File Manager -> public_html

Click on the “Upload” button from the top menu to upload the file.

In order to avoid such unpleasant situations you should always make a copy of your .htaccess file or any other file before modifying it.
