SugarCRM is one of the world’s most widely used open source CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software. The fact that SugarCRM is an open-source application means that the source code is not encrypted and it can be modified by all of its users or third party developers, making it possible to meet the specific needs of your business. This is an important aspect when choosing the most appropriate script. The SugarCRM codebase can be used as a fundament for modifications and extending its functionality in such way that you can create a unique platform providing your customers with more convenient and easy-going outlook.

By default SugarCRM comes with more than 20 language packs. However, in case that you need an additional one, which is not included, there are few easy installation steps, which should be performed.

First of all, download the desired language pack from SugarForge to your local computer. Make sure that the language pack is compatible with the exact version and flavor of the script you have installed. Some of the language packs available are appropriate only for the Community Edition of the script and if you want to use them on the paid SugarCRM platform you might be required to make some significant updates to make that possible.

Afterward, log into the application's administration area, navigate to Module Loader and select the language pack from your local machine. Once it is uploaded, you should be able to find it in the lower panel of queued packages and you will need to click the Install button. Next, navigate to Languages and ensure that your new package is under the 'Enabled Languages' column. To preview the changes you need to log out and then get back to the administration area.

In order to configure your SugarCRM application to work with SMTP you will first need to login to the back-end of the script and navigate to Email Settings.

Then enter the From Name and Address which will be visible to the customers. You can do that under the Outgoing Mail Configuration section. Click on the Other button under the Choose your Email provider section and enter the server hostname as an SMTP Mail Server. Check the Use SMTP Authentication checkbox. Afterwards, apply your username(email account) and password into the Username and Password fields respectively. Change the SMTP Port to 25 and set TLS as a security protocol from the Enable SMTP over SSL or TLS section. You can send a test email to verify your settings are correct. Click Save to finalize the configuration.

SugarCRM supports the above-mentioned features and allows you to install them quickly and easily. In order to start, simply follow the steps below:

- Log into SugarCRM and click on your profile in the top right corner.- Choose "User Profile" from the drop-down menu.
- Navigate to the "Downloads" section.
- Download the desired installation file.
- Navigate to the folder where you have downloaded the file and extract it to a folder of your convenience.
- Note: It is important to make sure that the file is fully extracted before you proceed.
- Run the setup file, and follow the installation wizard.
- Once the plugin is installed, you should configure it to connect to your SugarCRM instance with the third party software.

Once you are done with the configuration you can verify that in Office 2007 by navigating to the ribbon area where you should see SugarCRM listed. In Outlook you can find it by going to Tools > SugarCRM options.

The user's default team allow you to assign your new records to a specific team. If the default one is set to the private team, then all new records will be automatically assigned to it and they will be visible only to the users having these specific permissions.

In order to set the default team to Global for example, Navigate to Admin > User Management and select the user you wish to modify. Click the Edit button then select the Advanced tab and look for the Default Teams option. Then either click on the Arrow button to select the Global team or click the Plus button and enter "Global" in the text box. You can delete the user's private team by clicking the Minus button on the right of the team's name. Click Save to finalize the settings change.

Implementing a forecast tool to your SugarCRM application eliminates the risk of mistakes that can be made if you are guessing or assuming what would be the future of your company. The predictions made by such tool are based on actual data collected from the past trends.

In some cases, the users might be assigned with a dynamic IP address. This means that it changes after a certain period of time. If the IP address is changed while a user of your SugarCRM is logged in the connection will drop and they would need to access their account again. To disable this feature you should access the administrative area of the application and navigate to Admin > System Settings > Advanced section. Uncheck the Validate user IP address option and save the changes.

Doing a research is a good way to gather information but it is also time-consuming. The SugarCRM InsideView feature allows you to achieve that in a lot easier and more effective way.

However, if you want to disable this feature you need to go to the applications control panel and navigate to Admin > System > Connectors > Enable Connectors button. You should be able to see that the feature can be separately enabled or disabled for the Accounts, Contacts, Leads and Opportunities modules. To turn the option off for a specific module you need to drag it to the Disabled field and finally click the Save button.

The SugarCRM Email Archiving allows you to automatically save and link your messages to the Sugar records. This can be achieved by sending the emails to a specific address. The feature is available only for the SugarCRM Professional plan or a higher one.

Once it has been activated the application would generate a unique address which you can add as a recipient for your emails. This will automatically import the message and all of its attachments to the application database and you will be able to access it from your website’s administration panel.

Once a user is added to the SugarCRM application it is assigned to the Global team and the user’s Private group. The Global team is the general one to which every user belongs. If a record is assigned to the Global team all of the users can view it.

Users also belong to their own private team in order to view and manage their assigned records. Private teams include the reporting hierarchy. Hence, users can see the records of any user who is below them in the hierarchy, regardless of their team membership. 
Having this in mind it is important to assign all users to the appropriate team so you can preserve the hierarchy and allow them to view and manage only the content designated to them.
