The installation of osCommerce can be done in a very easy manner. You can use the Softaculous auto-installer available in your cPanel. You can simply find osCommerce there and install it with a click.

OsCommerce does not have a built in “under maintenance” feature. However there are several ways to set up this option.


The first one is to install an addon, which has this feature. The second one requires you to edit your index.php file. This is done by first making a copy of it. Right after that you can edit the original index.php with a template, which will notify the visitors of your website that it is under maintenance.

With the newsletter feature you will be able to notify your customers about your new products and any other news on your website.


It is a built-in feature, within osCommerce and you can activate it by simply going to your Administration Area and then navigating to Tools > Newsletter ManagerOnce you are there, you will see that you will both have access to any of your existing newsletters and also to create a new one.

If you would like to change this number you have to go to your Administration Area and then to navigate to Configuration > Maximum values > New Reviews > EditThen you will see a window, which will allow you to edit the value for New Reviews and to set the desired number of such which will be displayed for your products.

In case that you have forgotten your password it can be reset through the database of the application, which is a procedure that can be a bit confusing. If you want to proceed with that, please contact our Genius Technical Support Team who will be glad to assist you at any time.

It is quite easy to do that. You just have to go to Administration Area > Configuration > My StoreOnce you are there you will be able to click the Edit button and amend the desired profile by just adding a link for the actual social profile.

You just need to navigate to Configuration > SEO URLsAfterwards, click on Enable SEO URLs and then select Edit. Then choose the true option and click on Save.

You can always change and upload the logo by just going to Administration Area > Store LogoOnce there, you will be able to upload the new logo for your online shop. As soon as it is uploaded simply click the Save button and the change would be completed.

We recommend activating SSL for your website, as it is going to help with its security and the SEO. In order to configure the application to load using SSL you will need to edit some of the core files associated with it. The files in question are the following:


catalog/includes/configure.php and catalog/admin/includes/configure.php.
