How to Create Backups in SugarCRM
SugarCRM has its own back up tool included in the admin -> System section -> Backups. Still, this tool performs a back up of your files only. Be advised that almost all changes and information you apply in your SugarCRM is stored into your MySQL database which will no back included in the back up created by this tool.
In order to create a back up of your SugarCRM files, please refer to admin -> System section -> Backups:
Directory: In this field you should input the directory where your back up will be stored. You can use the following path:
/home/cpanelusername/public_html/
Where ''cpanelusername'' should be the username you use to log into your cPanel.
Into the ''Filename:'' field you should input the desired name for your back up with .zip extension. For example: sugarbackup.zip
When the above information is applied, please click on the Confirm settings button. You should be displayed with the following message: ''Settings confirmed. Press backup to perform the backup.'' This means that you can proceed with the back up creation via the ''Run Backup'' button below.
Please allow a few seconds and you should be displayed with the following message: ''Backup successfully stored as /home/cpanelusername/public_html/ sugarbackup.zip.''
You can now download your back up via:

In order to have a complete back up of your SugarCRM you should export your database as well. In order to perform this you should refer to your cPanel -> phpMyAdmin. It is very simple to export your database. First, choose your SugarCRM database on the left side. Then click the Export tab. Now, select all the tables. From Structure options you should also check Add DROP TABLE and then click the ''Go'' button. Doing this, you'll download a sql file. Now you have the MySql file necessary for backup.
