How to Change Themes and Styles

SMF (Simple Machines Forum) supports a lot of free and various style and themes. Some of them may be found here:

As you can see, they are divided in different types:

Let us pick up the theme named "Smf Light" from the category named "Minimal".

First of all, we have to download it. Once we are done, we should login at our SMF Administration Center. There you will have to find the link named "Themes and layouts", located in the menu on the right side of the screen. It is located under the "Configuration" tabs.

When you click on it, you will be forwarded to the Themes administration page. You will have to find the "Install a New Theme" menu there, which looks like this:

You will have to click the "Browse" button and choose the archive you have previously downloaded from the SMF website. Once you do so, click the "Install!" button and you are ready to go with your new theme.

To activate the new theme, click the back button and from the "Themes and layouts" page choose your new theme from the drop-down menu.

Click the "Save" button. Once you do so, you will have your new theme sucessfully activated and installed on your SMF forum.
