Send a newsletter to Dolphin members

Sending out weekly or monthly newsletters, letting your members know how is your network growing, telling them the new stuff that has improved over time is something which is kind of mandatory for every well doing social network. While the first time it might sound as a rocket science, the BoonEx guys (the ones behind the Dolphin project) made it quite easy.

You have the “Mass Mailer” utility, located in the “Tools” section of your admin area:

There you can pick up a subject, fill the text of the mail you would like to send out to your members and do it with a great ease. First, fill the form, so that you can create a “template” for your email message, i.e. to record it in the database:

Upon clicking the Submit button, you are ready to scroll down and choose the message from the drop-down menu:

As soon as the page reloads, you can choose which of your members you would like to send this message out to. By default, all members will get these messages, although you can do some fine tuning on it:

Yes, there is no ability of sophisticated “profiling” and “targeting” yet, but what we have heard, speaks that soon it will be introduced. When it is, be sure that this guide will be updated immediately with the new information.

Upon completion, emails will be added in the queue and the Status field on the mass mailer page will look like this:
