Wordpress Tutorial - Manage Themes

Change the theme of your Blog or upload a new theme.

 

1. Access your admin area using:

 

http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin

 

You will be redirected to a login page. Input your username and password and click on Login.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. You will see the admin area of WordPress.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. Click on Presentations.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

4. You will see the default theme and below it the available themes that are installed. You can click on any of them and this will make it the default one for the blog.

 

5. If you want to use another theme, you can navigate to the bottom of the page where you will see a link to the WordPress directory, where you can find a lot of themes to download.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

6. At the WordPress directory, please click on Download below the theme you have selected and you will be asked to save the file to your PC.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

7. Download and extract the theme to your local PC.

 

8. You need to upload that folder to your account under the wp-content/themes folder.

 

9. The easiest way to do it is by using FTP. Please check our FTP Tutorial for a guide how to upload files to your account.

 

10. Once you upload the folder (make sure you upload the folder containing the theme files and not a folder inside a folder) you can login to your wp-admin and to activate the theme.
