Often, the WordPress version in Fantastico differs with the latest stable released, though the guys from Netenberg are doing their best to release new versions almost every week. In this case, if you would like to have your blog working with the latest stable release, you will have to install it manually. You should follow these steps to complete the installation in no time:
1. You should get the WordPress package from the Wordpress official download repository. It is located at http://wordpress.org/download/.
2. While downloading WordPress, you can go to your cPanel, by logging at:
http://yourdomain.com/cpanel with the login details you should have received with your Welcome email. You will have to login, since it's neccessary to create a MySQL database for your installation. Once you login, find the icon called MySQL database wizard:

and click on it. You will be directed to a menu, where you will have to choose your MySQL database's name. Let's choose a blog:

and click on the "Next step" button go to through. Now we have to create a username, which will be able to access the database further:

We do recommend using the same names for your MySQL databases and usernames attached to it. However, it is up to you. Once you are done with writing the username and password, click "Next Step", so you can be forwarded to the menu, where you will actually allow this username to access this database (the username and database we've just created). Choose "ALL PRIVILEGES"

and click "Next Step" to finish the operation. You will see the following confirmation screen:

Note, that both your mysql username and mysql database name are prefixed with your cPanel username. For example, if your username is tmdhost and you have added a username blog and
database blog, they will be accessible as:
username: tmdhost_blog
password: tmdhost_blog
3. You are now done with your MySQL details creation. In the meantime the donwload the WordPress archive must be completed. You should decompress (extract) it on your local computer and open the file named wp-config.php with a text editor.
There, you should see the following three rows:

and substitute with the newly created MysQL details, as follows:

Once you are done, save the file and upload it to your account.
5. Now, it is time for a decision. If you would like to have your blog accessible through http://yourdomain.com only, upload the files from the extracted folder to your public_html folder. In case that you would like to access your blog through http://yourdomain.com/diary, for example, do rename the extracted folder to "diary" and upload it to your public_html folder.
In this tutorial the scenario is "A WordPress accessible through http://yourdomain.com".
6. When you are done with this, point your browser to:
http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin/install.php
and complete the installation. It should take no more than three steps and you are almost ready to blog.
7. Login via FTP to your account, find the wp-admin directory and remove the install.php file. Now you are ready to blog. Good luck!
