Wordpress Tutorial - Manage Plugins

Install new Plugins or activate existing ones

 

WordPress allows you to install various modules to your Blog that will help you make the site more interactive and pleasant to use.

 

1. Access your admin area using:

 

http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin

 

You will be redirected to a login page. Input your username and password and click on Login.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. You will see the admin area of WordPress.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. Click on Plugins

 

 

 

 

 

 

4. You will see the installed plugins and few options next to them:

Activate - To make the plugin active for the blog.

Edit - To change the options which are pre-set for the plugin.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

5. You can download more plugins using the Link to the WordPress plugin directory.

 

6. Select the Plugin you want to use.

 

7. Download and extract the archived file on your local PC.

 

8. You need to upload that extracted folder to your account under the wp-content/plugins folder.

 

9. The easiest way to do it is by using FTP. Please check our FTP Tutorial for a guide how to upload files to your account.

 

10. Once you upload the folder (make sure you upload the folder containing the plugin files and not a folder inside a folder) you can login to your wp-admin and to activate the plugin.
