A Site Map is a list of all pages, present on a certain website, that can be accessed by search-engine bots and users. The site map is usually a single page, listing all of the links on the website that it is on. The links are most commonly organized by their hierarchy, but can also be organized alphabetically or not at all.

The term “site index” is also sometimes used instead of “site map” and the two generally refer to the same thing.

The main purpose of the site map is to help search-engine bots more easily index a given website and to assist visitors in navigating that website.
